How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Thanks to a generous grant from the Petfinder Foundation, we were able to keep both our staff and the pets in our care safe and comfortable during a particularly challenging summer. When our air conditioning unexpectedly went out amid extreme heat, the grant provided critical support that allowed us to quickly address the problem. We were able to repair the A/C and purchase much-needed supplies such as kiddie pools, misting fans, and canopy tents. These items gave our pets a way to stay cool and enjoy time outside despite the heat.

Without this timely support, keeping the animals and our team safe would have been much more difficult. The PetFinder grant ensured we could create a comfortable environment for everyone, helping us weather the hottest days and continue our life-saving mission.

One dog who especially benefitted from the Petfinder Foundation grant was Milo, a playful and energetic pup who thrived during our daily playgroups.

These playgroups are a critical part of our shelter routine, giving all of our dogs the chance to get out of their kennels, socialize, and just be dogs.

With the extreme heat this summer, keeping our playgroups safe and comfortable was a challenge. Thanks to the grant, we were able to purchase cooling supplies such as kiddie pools, canopies, and misting fans, allowing Milo and his friends to enjoy their daily dose of fun without overheating.

Milo splashed around in the kiddie pool every chance he got, staying cool while having the time of his life. We’re thrilled to share that Milo has since been happily adopted, but he’s just one of the many dogs whose summer was made more comfortable because of this generous support.
