Joy's Place Animal Rescue: Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant supported essential care for approximately 15 cats in our program, including spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and daily needs such as food and litter. Many of the cats we serve arrive without prior veterinary care and require immediate medical attention along with consistent daily support.
As a rural, fully volunteer-run rescue with limited funding, these expenses add up quickly and can delay care without outside support. In recent weeks, we have also taken in a large number of kittens, placing additional strain on our resources due to the high cost of vaccinations, medical care, and future spay/neuter surgeries needed to prepare them for adoption.
This grant allowed us to respond immediately, ensuring cats received timely medical treatment while also providing the food and litter necessary to keep them healthy, stable, and comfortable during their time in our care.
By addressing both medical and daily care needs, this funding helped us improve outcomes, support successful adoptions, and reduce the cycle of overpopulation in our community.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
One of the kittens who was rescued from the large colony was not thriving. Her coat was dull and her stomach was distended. We treated her with antibiotics, dewormer, and also treated her for fleas and ear mites.
She is doing much better now and will be spayed in a couple months and then will be available for adoption. Thanks to this grant, we were able to afford everything she needed.
