Brindlee Mountain Animal Rescue: Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We took in two seniors, a bonded pair, after they suffered a devastating loss of their owner. We struggled with finding them a home together, because the older sister has intervertebral disc disease and spondylosis. She needs ongoing medication to ensure she lives a pain-free life. This grant allowed us to take the financial pressure off of their future adopter by supplying the first six months of medication as well as specialized stairs, beds, and ramps for Annie.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

This grant was specifically for our bonded pair of seniors, Annie and Cissy. They have since been adopted and found their forever home together!

The grant allowed for their adoption fee to be waived, as well as for us to supply the medication cost for six months to treat Annie.

With medication and targeted treatment, Annie is moving around better. She even tries to dig holes in the backyard!

With Annie’s medicine covered, her adopters were able to afford a dental, which Annie desperately needed to remove infected teeth.

All of this was possible for the family to afford thanks to the much-needed assistance from this grant in the first few months. The family is incredibly grateful for the support from the Petfinder Foundations that allowed them to gain their two new children.
