Humane Society of the Delta: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The money was used to pay for our ongoing expenses. These include daily/weekly intakes of puppies/dogs, slow-kill heartworm treatment and paying for basic necessities such as dog food. With over 300 puppies/dogs and 75 kittens/cats in our care, the support was so very appreciated.

It was a huge help in a time of crisis. The Humane Society of the Delta relies on donations only. It is also a no-kill shelter. We turn away none. Dog food has been difficult to find and order, so our supporters have not been able to help as much as they'd like. The $1,000 was a blessing at a time when one was truly needed. We were able to purchase items locally when we couldn't have them donated/shipped to us. We could continue taking in all dogs/cats that the area had "forgotten" and turned away.

The grant helps many of our dogs, including owner-surrenders such as Bocephus (first photo). With intakes, the money helps with any immunizations and monthly preventatives needed. Meet Bocephus.
