Stella, a 2-year-old German shepherd, came to the shelter via a concerned neighbor. Stella kept getting out of her yard and she was extremely skinny. She also had an accident and her tail needed to be amputated. James Smith, an 82-year-old Navy veteran, was looking for a German shepherd because he had recently lost his companion of eight years. Stella had been at the shelter for nearly three months waiting for her tail to heal and waiting for her perfect adopter. With this grant, we paid for Stella’s adoption.
