Northern California French Bulldog Rescue primarily takes in Frenchies with severe
medical needs. We are an all-volunteer rescue organization that operates on a shoestring budget. The Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant provided us with desperately needed funds to help our sweet senior girl MeeMaw find her forever family.
Caring for a senior dog with significant medical needs is expensive. Thanks to this
generous senior adoption grant, MeeMaw was able to find her forever family and have a smooth transition to her new home.

The Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant helped MeeMaw, a senior French bulldog. MeeMaw was surrendered to an animal shelter with numerous untreated medical needs and is estimated to be 9 years old.
MeeMaw needed emergency surgery for pyometra, a serious uterine infection, and removal of a large bladder stone. She recovered from her emergency surgeries, fortunately, and was ready to start her new life with a loving family.
Caring for a senior is expensive. In rescue, MeeMaw incurred over $4,000 in expenses for lifesaving veterinary care as she was nurtured back to good health and prepared for adoption. And for her future family, adopting a senior requires the lifelong cost of a prescription urinary diet to prevent formation of future bladder stones, pain medication and joint supplements to manage her arthritis, preventative medication for heartworm/fleas/ticks, and her adoption fee.
With generous support from the Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant, Northern California French Bulldog Rescue was able to waive MeeMaw’s adoption fee and provide her adopters with the specialized food and medication she needs as she begins her new life.
