Adopt A Saint: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The donation went towards Kane's medical bill at the vet's. Kane was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and entropion in both eyes. He had surgery to correct the entropion and is on medication for the hypothyroidism, plus he needed to be neutered.

Without the donations that we received, we would have had to wait to schedule Kane's surgery.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Kane, a 4-year-old rough-coat male, was surrendered to a local shelter on April 16 and was eligible for euthanasia on April 30, so we rescued him on the 28th after being notified that he was there. As you can see from the first photo, he had a terrible skin condition that needed medical attention right away. When we picked him up, he nestled himself in the comforter in the back of my SUV (second photo) and slept all the way to our vet. My vet diagnosed him with hypothyroidism and entropion in both eyes. He also needed to be neutered. He was skin and bones, at least 50 lbs. underweight. After eight months of vet care, he was adopted.
