Underdog Animal Rescue: Emergency Medical Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
This grant was hugely helpful in rescuing a dog who had greater needs than we were told by the shelter when we accepted him into our care. We were told this dog, Teddy Swims, had kennel cough. After we accepted him into our care, his kennel cough turned out to be several illnesses, including pancreatitis and pneumonia. This grant was critical in getting Teddy Swims the expensive treatment needed to overcome this illnesses. He has made a full recovery and the grant enabled us to replenish funds necessary to rescue more dogs.

Teddy Swims’s diagnoses were treatable illnesses, which was all the more reason to avoid unnecessary euthanasia. Thanks to the grant from the Petfinder Foundation, Teddy Swims has made a full recovery. He is, unfortunately, still in foster care; however, he is safe, and we do not euthanize dogs, so he will continue to be cared for and provided for by Underdog Animal Rescue.
