Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

This grant helped us pay off Emma’s surgery bill. Emma came to us from [an open-admission] shelter, where she was to be euthanized within hours of her intake due to her overgrown teeth. Her teeth had overgrown due to her underbite and had already reached her nose.

She was in need of having her incisors removed to avoid the teeth trimming procedure every four to five weeks for the rest of her life, which can require anesthesia that is dangerous for bunnies.

She was able to receive her surgery and is THRIVING since having it. She can eat freely on her own and is enjoying all the love and attention she receives. She will be spayed this month and will be ready for her forever family!

Thank you for helping her start the new chapter of her long and happy life.

(We do require all our rabbits to be spayed/neutered prior to their adoption. Emma is just 5 months old now and will be old enough for the surgery when she is closer to 6 months old.)
