Animal Rescue of Tracy: Emergency Medical Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Medical expenses to repair a dog's damaged elbow resulting from being hit by a car
With this grant, we were able to pull Bronson from the Tracy Animal Shelter, where he was already on the euthanasia list because they did not have the financial means to pay for his surgery. Though we did our own fundraising through social media, the bulk of the cost for Bronson's surgery and subsequent 10 weeks of aftercare and crate rest was paid for by this amazing grant we were given.

Bronson was brought into Animal Rescue of Tracy in October. He was picked up as a stray by the Tracy Animal Shelter after being hit by a car and brought to Jules Veterinary Hospital. He was quickly named Bronson after movie icon Charlies Bronson, because he was obviously a fighter. This cute 2-year-old male Chihuahua mix needed surgery for a broken elbow, most likely from being hit by a car.
He needed surgery and crate rest to make a full recovery. The Tracy Animal Shelter issued an urgent request for a rescue to step in and ART did! Surgery on his fractured elbow and 10 weeks of crate rest later, Bronson was ready for his forever home.
Bronson was adopted about two weeks after he was finally cleared to attend our adoption fair. The family who adopted him had already adopted a dog from Animal Rescue of Tracy. Sadie and Bronson have become fast friends and are living very happily together with their new family, the Garcias.
