How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Donated Kong toys were given out at adoption events to each of the dogs adopted out. This calendar year, we have had around 50 adoptions, so this was a lot of Kong toys going home with the furever families!

Some dogs rescued by Four Paws Coonhound Rescue and Friends have never had a toy of their own. In February alone, we rescued 35 beagles from a puppy mill. These dogs had been used solely for breeding purposes - kept in small cages and not being shown any human kindness beyond being fed and being provided with minimal veterinary care. Beyond having severe medical needs, these dogs were extremely distrustful of people. Kong toys were novel and interesting to them, and often their very first toy!

Two of the amazing beagles we rescued from the puppy mill turned out to be pregnant. We are attaching some cute pictures of the puppies that were adopted out to loving families (and will never have to experience being bred to death like their parents). These cute pups were all given Kong toys as a new beginning on their journey as a loved and pampered family pet!
