Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Parker is a 1-year-old orange kitty who came to us from a rural shelter where staff advocated for his sweet personality. Unfortunately, Parker has come to us with some additional assembly required: He had an incredibly large diaphragmatic hernia. His liver and stomach were hanging out with his heart and lungs, and that was making it hard for him to breathe, especially when eating. He urgently needed surgery.

He had a successful surgery before heading to a foster home to rest and recuperate. Full recovery took several weeks since it was a major surgery, but Parker is doing amazing and is back to 100%. He wooed his foster family while in their care and they have decided to adopt him!

Parker is expected to live a happy and healthy life and this grant helped cover some of the cost of making that happen.
