Front Range Freedom Rescue: KONG Toys Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The dogs were all thrilled to get the KONGs. They love the way they bounce and they really like them with treats inside. Frozen peanut butter and dog kibble inside the KONG keeps them busy for an extended period with positive chewing. We feel like KONGs help the dogs to self-calm and direct their energy in a positive direction. We are so grateful for this donation to our foster dogs.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sir Fur is a mixed-breed dog with lots of energy and a little separation anxiety. He would tear up any toys we gave him and howl when people left the house.

His foster was pulling her hair out when the donation of KONG toys arrived. Sir Fur played with the KONGs for hours! When the family left the house, they gave him a frozen KONG filled with yummy food and the pup was distracted and didn’t whine and bark! Problem solved!

Meet Sir Fur here.
