Gray Muzzle Society: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We have been able to adopt out two senior pets with ongoing special needs/care with waived adoption fees and plan to use the rest of the funds for our next four or five adoptions as well. With this grant, we hope to place several more senior and special-needs pets into forever homes without having to ask for an adoption fee. This way the adopter can use those funds on their new pet's ongoing care!

How many pets did this grant help?

4-5

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Nellie and Ollie have already benefited from this grant and were adopted this weekend. Chancho, Minnie, and Oliver are still looking for their forever homes, but they are so happy, healthy and comfortable in their foster homes.

Ollie and Nellie are a bonded pair of Chihuahua mixes who went to the shelter when their owner died. Unfortunately, because of Ollie’s severe heart disease, he was deemed to not be an adoption candidate. The shelter reached out to us to see if we could place these two and we took them in.

Ollie required a trip to the cardiologist and is in better shape than previously predicted. By waiving their adoption fees, we have set up their family with extra funds to devote to their care. We expect them to live happily and healthy in their new forever home.
