Black Forest Animal Sanctuary: WAHL Grooming Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Wahl products and donation were used to improve the grooming of the animals and for veterinary care.

We transfer in many dogs and cats from kill shelters when we have room at our sanctuary and adoption farm. They always need more TLC and a good grooming when coming from a big shelter. One dog, Dublin came in to us from another shelter with a broken leg that the shelter had not treated.

How many pets did this grant help?

Ongoing with grooming clippers.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Dublin a big one year old Rottie came to Black Forest Animal Sanctuary in Colorado from a New Mexico kill shelter. Upon arrival our volunteers noticed he was limping. We reported this back to the other shelter and they said they sure what it was. Upon veterinary evaluation and immediate xray, we found that he had a broken leg and fracture that was many weeks old. With the help of donations and support from Petfinder Foundation and Wahl, we were able to get Dublin’s surgery. He is now adopted into a wonderful loving home in Denver.
