How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The donation received allowed us to reduce the adoption donation for a pair of adult kitties who had been awaiting a forever home but needed to be adopted as a pair. Our regular adoption donation is $175 per cat (for a total of $350), but we were about to lower their adoption donation to $200. The extra $75 received from the sponsor donation was used to provide additional veterinary care for one of the cats. He had a lump on his chest and we were able to use the extra $75 to have the lump biopsied.

As mentioned above, we were able to lower our adoption donation and use the extra money for a biopsy of a lump on one of the kitties. We always want to be sure our animals are 100% healthy prior to adoption.

The pets sponsored, Sam and Susie, waited for seven months to be adopted. They were both older kitties, one very shy, one very large and on a weight-loss regimen. They were a bonded pair and we had a tough time finding the right home for them. We’re happy to report that Sam and Susie have found their forever family.
