Sunshine Golden Retriever Rescue: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The monies received were used to help a rescue named Patterson with his heartworm treatment. The cost of heartworm treatment for our rescues is close to 88% of our total medical costs. The total medical cost for Patterson was $1,862.

The money received helped SGRR with the financial impact of caring for Patterson. Having the monies to help in the medical care for Patterson helps SGRR have the financial means to help another rescue dog in medical need. Heartworm treatment is costly for our rescue and having the additional grant monies received helps with the medical costs. Thank you!

How many pets did this grant help?

This money helped one pet.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Patterson was found as a stray in the Alabama area. Patterson was malnourished, heartworm-positive, matted and needed to be neutered. Patterson received the medical care he needed to get him back on track to being a healthy dog. Once his heartworm treatment was completed, he was finally able to make his journey north to a loving home in Connecticut. Without the monies received from organizations like the Petfinder Foundation, our ability to care for additional rescues in need would be challenged. Thank you for your aid!
