By offering highly discounted adoption rates, we were able to quickly adopt out 15 dogs, which in turn opened up space to rescue 15 more.

Specifically the most important dog this grant helped was Charlie (first photo), a 7-year-old Chihuahua with a heart condition who survived caval syndrome (a life-threatening illness caused by a mass of heartworms in the heart).

He was adopted and, as a result of this grant covering his adoption fee, we gave a six-month supply of Heartgard to his adopter.
