Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue: Emergency Medical Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant assisted us in paying the medical costs for Tinto's rescue. Tinto landed in a county shelter with a partially degloved, shattered hind leg. The tissue was necrotic, infection had already set in and the damage was too severe to save his leg. His leg was amputated, but he is still just the sweetest, most loving puppy. Thanks to this grant, Tinto is now living his best life in his forever home!

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

At just 8 months old, Tinto arrived at Miami-Dade Animal Services with a gruesome leg injury. His only chance for survival was for a rescue to pull him to treat his severe injuries.

His leg couldn’t be saved – but his future could. Tinto received the lifesaving care he desperately needed and you wouldn’t even know he is a tripod puppy – he has adjusted wonderfully. He is loving, affectionate, playful, and has already found a wonderful forever home!

We are very grateful to the Petfinder Foundation for this $2,000 Emergency Medical Grant to assist us with Tinto’s surgery and overall medical expenses.
