How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The toys helped us engage dogs who weren't going out into the play yards on a scheduled day. They loved them! When it was time to collect them, we had dogs who didn't want to give them up! Overall, they provide a lot of stimulation and play time for the animals in our care. They perk up immediately upon seeing them head their way!

We had a dog named Nalls. He was sullen in his kennel but so loving when he was engaged with people. He had unfortunately been shot twice but was, amazingly, looking for love in anyone who walked past his kennel. The toys gave him a reason to be happy and something to enjoy during the times that we weren’t with him.

He was rescued by Polk County Bully Project and is currently being fostered. He is becoming the biggest couch potato with his foster family while he waits to find his forever home.
