How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant allowed us to offer $25 off adult-animal adoption fees. This drew people to look at adult animals and not just puppies and kittens. It also drew in adopters who might have gone elsewhere, as there are several shelters, all within an hour of each other, struggling to draw in the limited adopting population in our rural area.

Gunsmoke (first photo) was a senior, heartworm-positive beagle who was in our care for months with no interested adopters. However, after seeing our Facebook post about reduced adoption fees, a family visited us from Martin, GA. They immediately fell in love with this spunky old man and were so thankful for the reduced adoption fees so they could put the money back into his future medical needs.
