The grant money was used to assist with veterinary care and specialty food for a few emaciated dogs in our care.

This grant allows us to provide better care without the additional burden of how we would pay for the care that was needed.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Diamond was a cruelty case. She scored a 1 on the body-condition scale. She was found in organ failure, with a temperature so low it wouldn’t register. Her owner was arrested and we are in possession of her and a second dog. She has not been placed as available due to pending litigation. The second picture (collage) is after Diamond was doing better. Her weight has doubled and she is now on a diet.

Emmie (third photo) was found emaciated as well. She has fared much better than Diamond and will be healthy enough for her heartworm treatment and spay soon.

Missy was found with another dachshund. We believe there to be a puppy mill next door to where they were found and will continue to gather information.
