One Dog Rescue: No Fee/Low Fee All Love Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The grant was written with three animals in mind: Lucy, Tony, and Cash. All three have now been adopted, and we have a balance to help two additional animals.
How many pets did this grant help?
The grant will benefit a total of five animals this year.
Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Lucy (first photo) was saved from a high-[intake] shelter when she was heavily pregnant and had only about 24 hours to live. She came to Iowa, delivered nine healthy puppies, and has been adopted by a fellow who had followed her story ever since she was in danger. Since we are in Iowa and he is in Colorado, this fee reduction made it possible for him to conquer the travel required to adopt her.
Cash (second photo) is a loving, smaller Lab mix who has been adopted by a younger couple that loves to walk the country trails around their small town. He too had waited for several weeks to find a happy, forever home.
Tony (third photo) is a bluetick coonhound who had waited almost five months for his forever family. Now, he has a gig as a “truck dog,” riding with his new dad on a local delivery route. Since Dad is also an Army veteran, we waived the remaining $25 fee.
