Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Banjo (first photo) is a 1½-year-old male black mouth cur mix. He came to us on March 6, 2022, as an owner relinquish. His owner was moving into an apartment and was not allowed to take him with her.

Banjo was born with a deformity to both of his back legs which causes them to bow out at the knee, making them difficult to bend. He never let that stop him!

Banjo’s size and deformity caused him to not receive applications, even though he was always an awesome boy with a huge smile.

In July, the perfect match happened. A single mother and her pre-teen daughter fell in love with Banjo and decided to take him home on a one-week trial. The trial was a huge success, and on July 24, they made it official and adopted Banjo (second photo)!

With help from the Petfinder Foundation’s Kia Pet Adoption Grant, they were able to adopt him at half price. He sleeps with his human sister and doggy brother every night and loves to meet other dogs in the neighborhood. We could not be happier for Banjo and his new family!
