On Angels' Wings, Inc.: WAHL Grooming Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Grooming shelter pets

The shampoo provided allowed us to not have to purchase any. It is a lovely kind of shampoo which the pets seem to enjoy.

How many pets did this grant help?

Thirty so far; we still have shampoo remaining.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Shaggy was a “hot mess” upon arrival. Not only the most smelly, yellowed, matted coat we’d ever seen, but more importantly, he had been severely mistreated. Shaggy wouldn’t go for a walk, laid in his own urine, hid behind the toilet and wouldn’t look at anyone. Our terrific volunteer groomer, Erin, got him into her grooming bus and, using her great techniques and some Wahl shampoo, got Shaggy to look highly presentable. Within days, he was a new dog, looking at everyone, even walking on a leash. I think he was proud.

Pet No. 2: This sweet little terrier mix was dumped by his owners because they were moving. His fur was matted, dirty and tangled. He instantly felt proud and smelled great. He was adopted quickly.
