Tiny N Tall Rescue, Inc.: Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We as a rescue try our hardest to remove barriers and be a rescue for all; income should not define one's ability to be a great home. We all deserve the unconditional love of a wagging tail; this grant allows us to become more accessible within the community and provide an opportunity to a family to welcome a dog into their home - an opportunity they may not have had elsewhere. Our community looks to us for support and resources; by providing this grant to a dog in our care, we are cementing ourselves in the community as their biggest cheerleaders and champions for pet ownership.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
This grant was provided to our senior dog, Oscar. He is an almost 10-year-old Chihuahua/dachshund mix. He was adopted through our rescue more than five years ago and returned back to us in February 2025 due to owner health and finances.
Having his fee sponsored through this grant removes the financial barrier that prospective applicants may be facing and allows their financial means to be allocated to the ongoing care that is vital to his health and well being.
Oscar does have a grade 4/6 heart murmur with an enlarged heart. He is on daily cardiac medication that will be lifelong; he will be adopted out with two months of the medications, but the adopter will have to take on the medication expense past the two months.
At this time, he remains available for adoption; however, since highlighting this grant, we have received applications and messages from families inquiring to learn more. We are excited about being given the opportunity to have his fee sponsored and to highlight senior pets in a positive, community-driven manner.
UPDATE Dec. 29, 2025: After 11 months in rescue, he was adopted earlier this month — in time to be home for the holidays!
