How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The grant was used to pay for Mocha's adoption fee and projected medical expenses that would be incurred by her adopter. Her adopter was reimbursed for her medical care (vet visits, equipment, and insulin). This beautiful cat deserved a loving home and we wanted to make sure her adopter started off on the right foot.

Mocha is a senior cat who was in our care. She was brought in by her family, who clearly didn’t want to give her up. We felt bad for both her family and Mocha. On top of it all, poor Mocha had diabetes. Perhaps her family couldn’t handle this sweet girl’s medical bills or care. She stayed in our shelter until the Petfinder Foundation generously gave funds to help Mocha during and after her adoption.

We are pleased to announce that beautiful Mocha was adopted. While in our care and through improved care and medication, Mocha entered remission from her diabetes. She was then adopted by a wonderful couple who had adopted from us in the past. We couldn’t hope for a better family for this patient, wonderful kitty.
