Fulton County Animal Center: Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We had reduced adoption fees from Aug. 18-22. Normal adoption fees are $60 for kittens and $40 for adults. All cats and kittens were just $5 to adopt during this promotion!

It allowed us to adopt out a large number of cats and kittens in a short period of time! It reduced stress for the cats, reduced their likelihood of becoming ill, and reduced the cost of care and length of stay.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Sherry was a 10-year-old cat surrendered because her owner was having health issues and was no longer able to care for her. Sherry is a senior, front-declawed, has allergies, and had frostbite as a kitten, which caused her to have cropped ears. She was sad being at the Center and was with us for more than two months until finally her forever family came to visit our adoptable kitties during our promotion. They fell in love with Sherry’s outgoing personality and quirky looks. They’ve already sent us updates that she has adjusted well and has a new beagle brother whom she loves as well. It was a perfect match and we are so happy for Sherry!
