How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Outdoor enclosure for our muntjac, tortoise, rabbits and large birds.

This grant allowed us to purchase building materials needed for a predator-proof and escape-proof enclosure for many of our rescued animals.

How many pets did this grant help?

12-15 and possibly up to 30 more. We recently rescued 39 abused domestic pigeons and this enclosure will be perfect for them.

Due to the weather, our resident tortoise and muntjac (pictured) will not be able to enjoy the new space until spring. We currently have ducks in the enclosure and will be housing 39 rescued pigeons inside. The pigeons are still too weak and emaciated to put into the large enclose. We anticipate one to two more weeks of care in small cages before we can move them to this amazing new structure. We are so excited about it. We were even able to install a double entry to prevent accidental escapes when we enter the enclosure. We still have some minor work to do inside but it is constructed and ready!
