Wichita Animal Action League: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We used this donation to sponsor the adoption fee of a senior cat who has been in our care for a while. We're hopeful that a lower adoption fee will help her find a forever home faster.

This grant will help Grandma find her forever home while ensuring we don't lose a lot of the money we have spent for her vet care, making it a win-win situation.

We believe every animal deserves to spend their last years on a warm, comfy couch, sleeping in the sun, not in a cold, metal cage. We were so heartbroken to see this sweet senior, in her condition, dropped at WAS with no owner to come and save her. We took her into care and worked on getting her healthy again. She had hyperthyroidism, making her extremely skinny, and had an upper respiratory infection. Thanks to the love and care of her amazing foster, Dorothy, her thyroid was removed, her URI cleared up and she started putting on weight!

Her blood work is pretty flawless for a girl of her age (14-16 years old) and she still has a lot of good years left. She’s laid-back, sweet, and deserving of a home. She would be a great starter cat for someone who has never owned a cat and wanted to get their “paws” wet with an easy feline. All she requires is a bowl of food, endless scratches and a sunny window to sleep in. Meet Grandma: https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35741896
