How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The funds are being used to promote companion-horse adoptions by waiving adoption fees.

Adoptions have been significantly impacted by Covid-19 and we have been unable to make use of the funds to date. We have been successful at adopting some horses through a virtual program implemented since the beginning of the pandemic, and are hopeful we can get some of our Guardian Horses (companion-only) adopted this way with the help of this grant. We respectfully request an extension to the deadline for using the funds and submitting this final report.

Reuben is now looking for his new home through our Guardian Program! This sweet guy is looking for a companion-only home where he can spend his retirement days living the good life. Though an older gentleman, Reuben still has quite the pep in his step. Although he is no longer rideable, he enjoys dabbling in some ground and liberty work. Reuben likes connecting with one person, and earning his trust is one of the greatest gifts you will receive. He is currently working on liberty circles at the walk and trot, as well as recall and backing at liberty. Reuben would love to show you all that a companion horse has to offer!
