How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We rescued a Japanese chin who was in pitiful shape. He had a cryptorchid mass that was causing him pain and making him unadoptable. The shelters don't always have the funds and usually reach out to rescues. He would have most likely been euthanized if he'd stayed in the shelter.

Miri's Haven took him in and he went straight to a foster home. We did some Facebook fundraising and knew he had to have this surgery right away. The surgery was successful and within a couple of months, he was adopted. This grant allowed us to replenish funds so we could save more dogs! Thank you so much.

Our recent alum, Kody, a Japanese chin, had a big surgery to repair a huge open mass on his bottom and cryptorchid birth defect. His quality of life with these conditions was poor and there was only one choice to give him a life worth living. His procedure went well and he recovered beautifully. He’s since been adopted.

We are so grateful we could give him a fresh start with help from the Bar Dog Operation Grant from our friends at the Petfinder Foundation.
