Twin Cities Pet Rescue: COVID-19 Operation Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Dog food, cat food, cat litter, and other animal care supplies, as well as storage rental fees
Due to COVID-19, our events and fundraising came to an abrupt halt. Typically, our adoption fees and veterinary fees offset each other, and any extras we need to provide our animals come from donors or are purchased. Money and in-kind donations have been limited due to the pandemic, so this Operations Grant from the Petfinder Foundation helped us fill the gap where the pandemic hit us hardest.
How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic hitting Minnesota in mid-March, rescue requests continued to roll in, and we had an unexpected surge in foster and adoption interest. This allowed us to bring in more than 180 animals in just three months. One cat in particular is a senior kitty named Buddy Bartholomew, who has well-managed kidney disease. He requires weekly subcutaneous fluid, a special water fountain with filtered water, and his foster goes through a lot of litter because his condition causes increased urination. Providing these extras is made possible by funds from the Petfinder Foundation COVID-19 Operations Grant. Buddy is still available for adoption, looking for just the right home! You can meet him here.
