Pope County Humane Society: Cat Enrichment Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

By receiving the Cat Enrichment Grant for $750, we were able to purchase new, heavy-duty Kuranda cat towers for each of our cat-adoption rooms. They have now been in our cat-adoption rooms since the end of February and our cats have been loving them. Our staff has also been loving them as they are so much easier to sanitize and keep clean. It has been fun to watch the cats, and now oodles of kittens, run around and jump up and down from the towers. Our older cats have been enjoying cat naps on the towers in front of the windows.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Velociraptor sure enjoyed the new cat towers. She and her sister, Pterodactyl, were found as stray kittens in a barn. They came to PCHS to see if they had owners. No owners were identified or came forward.

Both have been adopted, but Velociraptor was with us for nearly a year before she was adopted into her forever home eight days before her one-year mark.
