How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We received Kongs and they were used for the dogs. We filled them with 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter and gave one to each dog.

Shelter enrichment is essential for a dogs' mental health while residing in a shelter. Kongs play an important roll in providing mental and physical stimulation.

Pepper is a long-term resident at our shelter. Unfortunately she has been with us for months so it is especially important for her to have mental and physical enrichment. The Kongs have done a lot to occupy her time and provide her with a safe way to satisfy her instincts, thereby making her stay more tolerable. We hope to find a home for her soon.
