Cuddle Cat Rescue: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant has been awarded to the rescue to help us reduce adoption fees to help some of our hard-to-adopt and long-term residents find loving, forever homes. This grant also helps us hold adoption events like the one we held this past Sunday, where five cats were adopted!

A total of 30 cats were adopted during our month-long adoption special made possible by this grant.

The first recipient of our Kia Pet Adoption Grant was our buddy, Bear (first photo)!

Bear was a well-known face at the rescue, as he spent 232 days in our care. This sometimes-crotchety fella became a fast favorite of staff and volunteers. Unfortunately, his sometimes-crabby demeanor at the rescue kept him from getting a family of his own for quite a long time.

As a result of this grant, Bear was adopted into a wonderful forever home where is treasured and loved. Bear is proof that a cat who doesn’t show well in a shelter setting can make a loving, faithful companion.
