TNR North Platte: No Fee/Low Fee All Love Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
We asked for funding to do free cat adoptions in our small rural community. With the $800 awarded, we were able to underwrite adoptions of five adult cats. The cats all got adopted quickly once we advertised the free adoptions. Several of these cats had been waiting for months to find their forever homes and we were SO happy that they found new homes so quickly. In turn, we were able to open up foster homes for new cats and kittens, which was a benefit to other felines.
Each adopter was carefully vetted to ensure that they would care for the cat carefully and long-term. Since North Platte is a small town, it will be easy to stay in touch with the adopters long-term. Each adopter was grateful for the opportunity to adopt a cat at no cost, and each stated that this would allow them the opportunity to buy more toys, supplies, and food for the new cat. They were all cat lovers for sure.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.
Amaranth had been waiting eight months for the right adopter. Throughout the summer, she was passed over by potential adopters who wanted kittens instead. Amaranth never lost faith, however. She continued to enjoy her indoor life, with regular food and vet care.
Once we offered free adoptions, Amaranth was quickly snapped up by the first person who saw her! We’ve checked up on her and she adjusted easily and enjoys the full run of her new home. She sleeps on her human’s bed every night and enjoys regular meals and treats.
Thank you for helping Amaranth!
