How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

Rewarding the dogs for their good behavior, keeping the dogs occupied while they are in their cages.

Those Kong toys helped keep our dogs occupied while sitting in their cages at the shelter. Not only did they get to eat delicious treats from the toys, they were able to enjoy a "piece of home" while they are patiently waiting for their forever homes.

Dusty (brindle terrier mix) and Bear (black Lab/rottie mix) have both been at our shelter for two months. These Kong toys have helped keep their minds busy while they are in their cage in between walks with our volunteers. Both of these dogs enjoy being active, and we appreciate the help of Kong toys to keep them occupied while they’re in the shelter.
