EASEL Animal Rescue and Ewing Shelter: Sponsor a Pet Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The grant was to sponsor a pet, Midnight, who was rescued in Monroe, NJ, near the sponsor's home. The money was enough to get Midnight spayed.

EASEL's policy is that all pets must be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. This grant covered Midnight's spay so she could go to her forever home.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

All black, medium-haired Midnight was found as a little kitten playing alone in a back yard in Monroe, NJ, in early August 2015. She was scooped up and brought to an EASEL volunteer living nearby. Midnight spent a few weeks in foster care, getting healthy and strong before getting spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Since Midnight was ready for adoption, her next stop was our shelter in Ewing. It took a few months for the right family to come by, but on Jan. 11, 2016, Midnight went to her new home, along with another kitten from our shelter.
