Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Tallulah was rescued as a senior cat, 10 years old and with a litter of newborn kittens, from the streets of Long Island, NY, a year ago on Aug. 6, 2020. Her kittens were barely two weeks old and so sick they needed eye enucleations and were left with horrible corneal scarring.

Once her kittens were weaned, Tallulah was finally able to be a kitten again herself. Sadly, it was found that she had debilitating urinary stones that needed to be surgically removed, and that she would need to be on prescription urinary food and get an exam, bloodwork, and urinalysis every six months for the rest of her life.

She waited more than a year to find a home, not only because of her age but, we believe, because of those costs that would be incurred by an adopter.

Tallulah was adopted on Oct. 29, 2021. This grant was used to help Tallulah’s adopter with her required prescription food and veterinary costs to keep her the happy and healthy kitty she is today! Thanks to the grant from the Petfinder Foundation, Tallulah was able to find the forever home she has always wanted and deserved.
