How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We have rescues come in regularly in various situations. Being able to provide them with a colorful, interactive, and stimulating toy to play with while in foster care has allowed many of these kitties to come out of their shell and be playful again. It also allows us to send home upon adoption day a Kong toy that they have bonded with. I have to say, toys are one of the top things we go through, so this award truly helped us be better equipped and to focus on other areas of need.

One particular kitty came in after he was thrown outside in the snow by his owner.

The kitten came in to our rescue depleted and scared. He found a safe spot on a cozy bed in the foster’s home, and next to him was a Kong toy that made noises. As soon as he heard this little toy making noise, he livened right up and starting interacting.
