FIDO's Companion Rescue, Inc.: All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

To pay for a leg amputation for a dog hit by a car who came into our vet clinic from Cleveland Animal Control. To pay for parvo treatment for a dog surrendered by his owners at our vet clinic. To pay for demodex mange treatment for a dog who had literally NO HAIR on his entire body when we took him in from Cleveland City Kennels.

This grant allowed us to pay for expensive and ongoing medical care for three dogs who needed major surgical and/or medical care to survive.

How many pets did this grant help?

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Watson (first photo) came to our vet clinic, West Park Animal Hospital, after he was hit by a car. He did not have use of one of his legs. The leg was broken in a way it could not be repaired surgically and needed amputation. Watson is a such a beautiful young, gentle soul and we have to help him thrive again. He runs around on three legs without any issues now.

Noshi came to us from Cleveland Animal Control after he was picked up as a stray and literally had zero hair on his entire body (second photo). He was scared of EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. He clearly never had any socialization with people. He had demodex mange, but with the right medical treatment, he is growing all his hair back in (third photo) and now living with a professional dog trainer; he is learning to love other dogs and trust people.
