Rescue Village: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

The Kia Pet Adoption Grant allowed Rescue Village to waive the adoption fees for 11 families from Oct. 6-8, 2023, reducing the financial barrier to adoption for those families. The grant allowed Rescue Village to draw attention to the 70 adoptable animals available at the time because waived adoption fees attract individuals looking to adopt.

Annie was an older dog who was surrendered to Rescue Village because her owner had cancer and could no longer take care of her. This sad story was made happier when Annie was adopted through the Petfinder Foundation grant.

Sometimes older dogs take longer to be adopted, but not Annie, who only spent 12 days at Rescue Village before her new owner, Sharron, took her home.

Ten animals in addition to Annie were adopted through the Petfinder Foundation grant in October 2023, and images of all the animals adopted were posted to Rescue Village’s Facebook page.
