How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
The Kong Toy Grant is being used by our "Kong team" to create enrichment for our dogs on a biweekly basis. The Kongs are providing enrichment to our dogs during the times that they are waiting for walks or play-yard time. Kongs help to reduce kennel stress and provide hours of enjoyment.
Thank you, Kong, for providing this grant to help offer the dogs at the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area enrichment to better their lives.

Pop Tart (first photo), a pit bull mix, was adopted on Dec. 27, 2022.
Blu (second photo) says: “My name is Blu I love the people at HSHA; they are so good to me, but nothing beats a home. I am an exceptional guy, happy to greet everyone I meet with tail wags and kisses. Everyone has such amazing things to say to me! I walk well on-leash and have great potty habits. I do need a home with no young children or other animals. I know that seems like a lot to ask, but I know someone out there will be just fine with me as their only love. I hope 2023 is better for me and I can find a home to call my own. Please, consider giving a sweet boy like me a chance. I’ll prove how amazing I am in just one minute of us meeting! Monet (third and fourth photos) says: “Hey, it’s Monet! I am an adult pit bull mix who is just so handsome. I have a worried look to me, but I really am a happy boy. I was found as a stray and, sadly, my family never came looking for me. I am hoping to find a new home with a family that’ll commit to me forever. I am strong and will need a strong leader in the home. I know basic commands, but I could benefit from training and more socialization. I will sit, give you my paw and lie down. I love attention. Karl Weaver (fifth photo), a Great Dane mix, says: “I am Karl Weaver, a big, handsome 100 lbs of pure snuggly perfections. I will keep you warm on chilly days. Due to my size, kids over 12 years are best. I forget I am a big boy and jump up or use my big ‘ol mitten paws to say hello! I am working on this behavior and catch on to things quickly! I know basic commands and am improving on my leash skills. It is best I am your only pet, but I am all you’ll need! I am such a big, loving, and sweet guy to provide you 100 dogs worth of love!
