Loving Care Cat Rescue: Kia Pet Adoption Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
Loving Care Cat Rescue utilized the Kia Pet Adoption Grant to promote adoptions at half-price when adopters welcomed multiple cats into their homes. Over the course of a little more than a month, Loving Care Cat Rescue was able to adopt out 21 cats from nine foster homes. We would like to thank Kia and their Accelerate the Good program and the Petfinder Foundation for their generosity!

Danvers and DP (first photo) are two of four kitty siblings brought to Loving Care Cat Rescue (LCCR) to find loving homes. Their original owner moved out many months prior to their rescue, initially returning every few weeks to provide food and water. The owners then stopped coming to feed them.
Distraught, the four cats would jump up on the door and windows whenever they heard sounds from the outside. Thankfully, a neighbor heard them, posted their story to Facebook and rescuers swiftly sprung into action.
The kitties were all taken to the veterinarian and their x-rays and bloodwork showed them to be rather healthy despite being malnourished. They recovered well and gained weight. Now you wouldn’t be able to tell that they went through that frightening experience. DP and Danvers are newly adopted polydactyl kitties who are very playful, affectionate, and love to be held!
Some of the other cats receiving loving homes under this grant included three feline infectious peritonitis survivors, a bonded pair, two cats rescued from underneath a shed, and two cats left on a porch in a carrier with a note that said “Please find us a good home.”
