Dusty Tails Animal Rescue: Emergency Medical Grant Report
How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?
A focus of Dusty Tails Animal Rescue is on medical cases who require additional care that shelters cannot provide prior to adoption. We know that these pets' chances of living happy, fulfilling lives are slim if we do not step in to help. We also recognize that this is costly, but we know their lives are worth every single penny.
This grant directly allows us to support this goal, since it supports the animals who need help and need help now in order to survive and have another chance at life. The Emergency Medical Grant allowed us to save a life which desperately needing saving.

Twiggy was a puppy rescued alongside her siblings. While her siblings were all happy and healthy, we could see that Twiggy’s skin condition was holding her back.
She was in pain and did not want to be held. We tried many different treatments and none were working. We did not know if she was going to be able to have a healthy, happy life. We were then able to finally identify a root cause — a very resistant skin infection — and a treatment that will be successful!
She is not yet able to be adopted while we bring her back to 100%, BUT she is with an unbelievably loving foster in the meantime. We cannot wait to see Twiggy in a forever home soon and, thanks to Petfinder Foundation’s support, we are able to provide that to her.
