Humane Society of the Black Hills: Stretch and Scratch Cat Scratchers Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

We use the Stretch and Scratch cat scratchers in our adoption room cat kennels. When the cats are adopted we send the scratchers home with the cat.

It helped the cats utilize their natural instinct to sharpen their claws and entertained them.

How many pets did this grant help?

To date approximately 35 cats.

We put a Stretch and Scratch cat scratcher in “Portia’s” kennel and she immediately stretched and scratched! It was amazing how quickly she was drawn to it. She enjoyed it immensely!
