How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

This grant award funded the purchase of 140 doses of intranasal bordetella vaccines. While these vaccinations would be a core vaccine regardless, the intranasal version can be administered on puppies as young as 3 weeks. Since there has been such an uptick in respiratory infections, vaccinations as soon as practicable helps to protect dogs in our care the best way we know.

These puppies were abandoned in Missouri without their mother. We are blessed to have skilled bottle-feeder fosters within our rescue who could give these pups the best possible chances at survival.

These pups may not have had sufficient immunity from colostrum, so infection control was exceptionally important. Providing a vaccine at a very young age only improves their chances of survival. These puppies are too young to be adopted at this time.
