Williamson County Animal Center: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

WCAC received 20 Special Edition Chill Pads.

The P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds received from this grant helped provide "a warm and cozy place" for the animals being cared for at WCAC to rest and sleep on as they wait for their forever homes.

Providing animals with a comfortable and enjoyable environment during their stay greatly contributes to reducing the amount of time it takes for them to be adopted.

How many pets did this grant help?

Based on average length of stay, this grant has the potential to help more than 500 pets in a calendar year.

Please provide a story of one or more specific pets this grant helped.

Shirley Temple (photos provided) was brought to WCAC after being found on the side of a local parkway, apparently having been hit by an automobile. She suffered multiple injuries that obviously caused her pain and discomfort, and made her sensitive to being touched.

After being given her P.L.A.Y. bed, Shirley became more friendly and confident when interacting with people. She soon then found her forever home!
