Apollo Support and Rescue: P.L.A.Y. Pet Beds Grant Report

How did this grant help your organization and the pets in your care?

When we received these amazing beds, we had just gotten our transport van around the same time. Our adopted dogs that were adopted from Petfinder were about to take a 2,000-mile ride. What better then to give them the best comfort and warmth? We also were taking 10 dogs, which was the number of beds we received, so how perfect was this?

Minnie was rescued in early 2020 with her brother Mickey. They were covered in mange and motor oil. She took a long time to warm up to people, but in the fall of 2020 she was adopted to a family in Oregon and set off on our transport from Texas to her new home. The beds received from the P.LA.Y. grant provided comfort during her transport to Oregon.

A total of ten dogs were about to take a journey to their homes. They would be transported to the Pacific Northwest. These beds provided them comfort during this journey, as 10 dogs who had been adopted off Petfinder made their way to their forever homes.

Considering the timing of our first transport trip, and our having the 10 dogs and new van, the beds were a perfect addition.
